PlaNET SOEN 3.0 international field visit in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia

During our international PlaNET SOEN 3.0 workshop in Slovakia, participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Poland and Slovakia had the opportunity to visit the town of Banská Bystrica, or take the cable car over the ski resort Donovaly to Nova Hoľa (1,370 meters above sea level).

Banská Bystrica is the capital of Central Slovakia and with its population ranks as the fifth largest city in Slovakia.
Monuments in the historic city center are part of the city’s monument reserve. The pride of Banská Bystrica is the central SNP Square transformed into a pedestrian zone with a unique atmosphere, which other cities may rightly envy. The most beautiful view of the colorful area of the main square is from the slender and slightly sloping Clock Tower.

Part of the visit to the city was also a tour of the community-coworking project 365.labb.

In 365.labb, local communities are interconnected and the necessary background is created for them to function, develop and combine know-how. Several organizations, startups, influencers, creatives, artists, but also other entrepreneurs come together here. Several local projects are supported and grouped in the historic building of the 365.labb, which operates on the principle of zero waste. Its permanent members use the entire Labb background for free and “pay” only for their know-how. They create content, organize various events, discussions and workshops. Ecological, startup, technological or artistic topics are represented here.
