Two students from Croatia who participated in a training session in Slovenia were also involved in organizing the training on e-learning, school participatory budget project development, introduction of participatory budgeting in small municipalities, social innovations, and green economy. The training lasted for about 4 working hours, and the students who participated in the training were very motivated and involved in workshops. Participants really liked and followed the scheme. The training session was likely a success, given the positive feedback from the participants. It is encouraging to see young students taking an active interest in topics such as e-learning, participatory budgeting, and social innovations. These are all important areas that can help shape the future of our society.
It is also worth noting that the training session was organized by students who had previously participated in a similar training session in Slovenia. This is a great example of how knowledge and experience can be shared across borders and used to benefit others.
Overall, this is a great initiative, and it is heartening to see young people taking an active role in shaping the future. I hope that more such initiatives will be taken in the future, and that they will continue to inspire and motivate young people to take an active interest in important issues.
Slovenia
A school day was dedicated to training on participatory school budget and social innovation issues related to school activities. However, due to the low concentration of students after final exams and school commitments, it was difficult to get 20 interested students to participate. The students who participated in the training in Slovenia in October 2022 on the school participatory budget (Tina, Glaž and Klara) were involved in organizing the training with the help of the tutors/mentors of School Center Šentjur.
The training session started with a basic introduction to the aims and objectives of the PlaNET SOEN 3.0 project. The young trainer also included energizers in the training to make it more varied and to increase the attention of the students. Participants in the training had questions about the developed ideas and how they would get the money for implementation. The discussion also focused on how the idea is a contribution to climate change. Tutors were also involved in answering specific questions from trainees.
The IO tools were presented to the trainees, and they agreed that the document would be helpful in future studies at school. It is encouraging to see young students taking an active interest in topics such as participatory school budgeting and social innovations. These are all important areas that can help shape the future of our society. It is heartening to see young people taking an active role in shaping the future, and I hope that more such initiatives will be taken in the future, inspiring and motivating young people to take an active interest in important issues.
