Interesting internships in Poland were focused on science

Three students of Polish partner school, with the best school projects (Angelika Pedryc, Katarzyna Borek, Oliwia Grzywacz) had a chance to take part in a 5 day internship programme at local companies.

Based on the interest of the students and  their future plans, project staff from Association Education by the Internet, the PlaNET SOEN 2.0 project partner in Poland, selected and made arrangements regarding internships places and during the week 6th-10th of May 2019, students mentioned above become a part of the work environment of such local companies as:

  • The Energy Science Centre (Energetyczne Centrum Nauki) – a science center in Kielce city – creative space with an unusual atmosphere. Interactive stations and devices that are on display here were created and designed specifically for the Energy Science Centre.  The science center consists of: Energy exhibition, “Power Generator” lab, 3D cinema, Energy Garden. The science center can be explored by individuals and groups. Various workshops both for children and adults are offered.
  • SimpleOutsourcing.pl – an outsourcing company based in Kielce city. The company is an owner of a student recruitment brand – eduABROAD Programme. Each student had a personal mentor from the company. During the period of the internship students had been assigned company’s tasks related to their interests. Mentors acted as advisers, consultants and supervisors for the students. Students could get practical skills from real business and develop entrepreneurship behavior.

One of the lesson learned by one of the students is an experience of working in a science center. The student had change her mind from her future plans to study and later to work on a position related with groups of children, as the noise and fuss doesn’t suit her for a longer period of time.
