Another unforgettable moment of PlaNET SOEN 2.0 project was the impact that it had on the school participatory budget (SPB) in Vila Nova de Famalicão municipality. For the last three years, Portuguese Ministry of education is giving to all public schools a budget to implement their own school participatory budget.
Every public school is receiving 1€ per student, but never less that 500€ per school. City Council in Vila Nova de Famalicão has decided to double this budget on public schools!
But something has changed thanks to PlaNET SOEN 2.0 project! Vila Nova de Famalicao municipality has decided, that from now, ALL SCHOOLS, either private or public, can count with this financial support to promote school participatory budget among their students.
And that is something that makes us feel very proud!
