Albanian Students Turned Ideas into Community Action.

What can young people achieve without funding? In Korçë, Albania, the answer was simple – a lot.

After completing the SOEN4 Youth Academy, students transformed the knowledge and skills they had gained into three Zero Budget Events that made a visible difference in their school and local community.

The first initiative, Pre-Tutoring Club, brought students together to help their classmates prepare for Physics and English exams. Through peer-to-peer learning and after-school study sessions, all participating students successfully passed their exams, proving that sharing knowledge is one of the most valuable forms of support.

Creativity took centre stage during Art from Trash, where students gave new life to recycled materials by creating a collaborative artwork. The final piece is now permanently displayed in the school’s main hallway, serving as a daily reminder that small ideas can create lasting impact.

The third event, Talent Show, gave young people the opportunity to step onto the stage of the Korçë City Theatre and showcase their talents in front of their peers and the local community. More than just a cultural event, it created a safe space for self-expression, confidence building, and celebrating the diversity of young people’s abilities.

These three initiatives demonstrate that meaningful community impact does not depend on financial resources. It begins with motivated young people who are ready to take responsibility, support one another, and transform ideas into action.
