Zero Budget. Real Impact. Young People in Kosovo Proved That Change Doesn’t Need a Big Budget.

Creating positive change in a community does not always require significant funding. Sometimes, all it takes is a good idea, teamwork, and the courage to take the first step. This is exactly what the graduates of the SOEN4 Youth Academydemonstrated through three inspiring Zero Budget Events in Kosovo.

The first initiative, Stories that Heal, was a fundraising campaign supporting children without parental care. Working together with the municipality and the OFAP organisation, the students prepared promotional materials, organised a book promotion, and raised approximately €600 for a meaningful cause.

The second event, Sip of Tea, Sip of Stories, transformed the main square of Vushtrri into a welcoming space for dialogue and community engagement. Organised in partnership with the Municipality of Vushtrri and a local business, the event brought together young people, local authorities, and community members, encouraging new connections and cooperation.

The third initiative, StoryNet, introduced a student-developed digital platform connecting young readers, authors, and literary events. Launched at the University Library, the platform attracted more than 200 participants and demonstrated how young people can combine technology with social impact.

These three initiatives prove that the true value of Zero Budget Events is not measured by financial resources, but by young people’s creativity, collaboration, and willingness to take action for their communities.
