One of the Slovak student projects that is seeking financial support this year within the PlaNET SOEN project and within the participatory budget of the city of Banská Bystrica is the revitalization of the skate park in this city.
The support and development of sports should be in the public interest of every city. Skateboarding is one of the popular leisure activities in the city of Banská Bystrica. The city of Banská Bystrica lacks a fully equipped skate park or other skateboarding infrastructure.
The skatepark in Fončorda is therefore an important space that at least partially covers the youth’s demand for such an infrastructure. In the skate park in question, the Foralines group meets, which takes care of the running of the skate park. The skatepark is also used by a group of BMX riders, smaller children with their parents, as well as people from the surrounding blocks of flats who like to observe this interesting sport.
Students of the Evangelical High School in Banská Bystrica met personally with the city representatives, who gave them valuable advice on how to be successful in obtaining financial support from the city’s participatory budget, and the students also received their promise of personal involvement in the revitalization of the much-needed skate park.
We are proud of our young people, their enthusiasm and determination, and we hold them accountable so that everything goes well to their satisfaction and to the satisfaction of the youth who wish to use such a sports field in the city of Banská Bystrica.
