First non-formal training in Portugal was a great success

During 19-23 of October 2019 a non-formal education training on the topic “Financial structure” was held in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, thanks to implementation of project PlaNET SOEN 2.0.

Students, teachers and youth workers from such countries as: Slovenia, Slovenia, Poland and Portugal, the project partner countries, could meet and learn together during those 5 days.

The non-formal education training on the topic “Financial structure” was prepared by “Youth Union of People with Initiative” – YUPI . The project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

A group of 5 participants from each of the project partner countries (Slovenia, Slovenia, Poland and Portugal) participated in the non-formal education international training: 3 students from an upper-secondary school, 1 teacher from the same upper-secondary school, 1 youth worker from the organization which is the partner in the project.

The agenda of these intense 5 days was focused on such issues as: idea development, project life-cycle, project management, financial structure and budget of a project, time and resources management. All those topic were delivered using non-formal methods, including: simulations, group work, presentations and games.

Participants from 4 countries could also take part in various name-games and team-building activities, as this was their first international meeting in the project, to get to know each other.

This non-formal education training was focused also on developing communication and presentations skills of the participants. This is because, now after their return to their home countries, the students, with support from a teacher and a youth worker, will organize a one day non-formal education workshops for other students and teachers, to multiply the learning outcomes of the international training. A minimum of 15 participants will now take part in a minimum one workshop in Slovenia, Slovenia, Poland and Portugal.

This was a first non-formal education training implemented within the project PlaNET SOEN 2.0. Two more will be held in December this year in Poland and in March 2020 in Slovenia.
