PlaNET SOEN 2.0 has been successfully launched

From 21 to 25 May 2018, an initial meeting was held in Slovakia, attended by representatives of our partner countries from Poland, Portugal and Slovenia. Within five days, the project partners outlined their experiences and shared good practice with youth work. The meeting also included a visit to the Evangelical Gymnasium in Banská Bystrica, the training of a participatory school budget and the planning of the next steps in the project.

All four project partner countries have been engaging in co-operation with secondary schools that have expressed their interest in being part of the project and thus supporting social entrepreneurship among their students.

The Lutheran Gymnasium in Banská Bystrica is the Slovak secondary school that joined this project because they already has a positive experience of previous cooperation and last year the participatory school budget was a big success.

The Šentjur Agricultural School is one of the oldest in Slovenia and aims to become a school that offers formal and non-formal education programs that meet the needs of a wider region.

Forave is a private vocational school based in Vila Nova de Famalicão, one of the most developed regions of the Ave Valley, in the north of Portugal. One of the objectives is also to exchange experiences that improve European integration and enrich the school organization.

Stephen Zeromskie’s Upper Secondary School in Kielce, Poland, has for many years been a leader in regional and national schools and its students have successfully continued their studies at universities in Poland and abroad.

Since the beginning of the school year 2018, these schools have begun to promote the project using tailor made posters and leaflets that motivate local students to change their environment in their school, to improve their creativity by helping them develop and improve their school space, focused their ideas on complementary activities that will inspire other students to become an active part of society and thus develop their school, city, region …….

At the same time, school managment is actively involved in the whole school pariticipatory budget project by providing finances to implement the ideas for which school students will vote because those ideas will be the most creative, the most beneficial, or the most innovative.
