In August 2026, we received fantastic news: the next generation of PlaNET SOEN has been selected for EU funding. And this time, the SOEN methodology is reaching a new continent – Africa.
PlaNET SOEN5 will build on the experience and methodology developed through previous SOEN projects and transfer it into new educational and community contexts. What has been tested and continuously improved in Europe and the Western Balkans will now be adapted and further developed together with partners in Africa.
At the heart of SOEN remains a simple idea: young people should not only learn about leadership, entrepreneurship and social responsibility – they should have the opportunity to practise them, create their own initiatives and become active contributors to their communities.
For us, the approval of SOEN5 is therefore much more than the start of another project. It shows that the SOEN methodology has the potential to travel, adapt and grow beyond its original geographical context.
A new continent means new communities, new perspectives and new opportunities to learn from each other.
