From the Balkans to Shanghai: SOEN4 Presented to an Audience from More Than 120 Countries

PlaNET SOEN4 has reached the global stage. From 11–17 June 2026, our project was represented during the Global Youth Development Programs – Acceleration Week in China by Gurali Haxhillari, Executive Director of our Albanian partner organisation Balkan Youth Activism (BYA). During the programme in Shanghai, he introduced SOEN4 to an international audience of youth leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics and representatives of organisations from more than 120 countries and regions worldwide.

At the centre of the presentation was the PlaNET Social Enterprise model, which connects education, entrepreneurship, innovation and community engagement. It demonstrates how schools can become spaces where young people develop leadership and entrepreneurial competences and turn their ideas into concrete solutions addressing the needs of their communities.

For SOEN4, the presentation created value beyond international visibility. The project model was introduced to potential multipliers from across the world and sparked discussion about how similar approaches could be adapted to other educational and community contexts. This strengthens the international visibility of SOEN4 and its potential for wider transfer, replication and sustainability beyond the current partner countries.

Experiences and results emerging from schools and communities in Albania and across the Western Balkans have therefore become part of a global conversation about education, social innovation and young people as active drivers of change.
